The deep bass groove in Kerfuffle cleverly moves around the metronomic like percussion. The substitution of swing from the hi hats and percussion to the bass line offers a refreshing twist on tech-house traditions. As we’ve come to expect from Matt Everson’s production work, the core of the track lies in the central breakdown and his favoured reverb builds give a break to the hypnotic groove until the bass resurfaces and takes command. Ours Jean is a summertime groove that demands sunshine. The melodic percussion line offers a fresh angle to add to Matt’s trademark chunky bass and drum routines. The atmosphere created by the combined tails of the percussion sections add depth to the already hypnotising groove. This one will have you reaching for your sunglasses wherever you might be!
