Miss Nine Releases Colours Around the World 03

This April electro/bigroom figure Miss Nine returns with the third instalment of her labels ‘Around The World’ album series. Inspired by religious Hindu spring festival Holi, the theme for this follow up edition in the ATW series is ‘Colours’ – a symbolic gesture to the unity and energetic liberty discovered on the dancefloor.

Showcasing the slinky upbeat musical direction of Miss Nine, this standalone mix weaves between the subterranean layers of progressive-tech house & big room electro featuring tracks from imprints such as Toolroom Records, Spinnin’ Records, Armada, Nettwerk Productions, Zouk Recordings, Doorn Music and Nine’s own 925 Music label.

Opening with the lush synth licks of EDX’s ‘Touched’, the mix eases into the first of Miss Nine’s exclusive album tracks ‘Colours’ before rising into a the uplifting, arena swooning vocals of Kyler England on Miss Nine’s 2012 release ‘Stranger’. Nicky Romero’s ‘Still the Same Man’ gives the mix a change of pace with its driving melody before South American charms of Maison & Dragen’s aptly titled ‘Rio De Janeiro’ take hold. The second of Miss Nine’s exclusive tracks, ‘Speed of Light’, follows with an electrifying top line from Melanie Lynx; that has all the hallmarks to become a mesmerizing summer anthem.

Leading into second half of the mix Funkagenda’s basement banger ‘Blacklight’ wastes no time in shifting the groove up a notch, ahead of the rolling bass arrangement of Digitalism vs Tommy Trash ‘Falling’. ‘Turn Up the Love’, the highly anticipated new single from Miss Nine, is a mainstage digging electro bump filled with big riffs. Belgium rising star Basto’s ‘StormChaser’ gives an unrestrained peak time energy to the whole mix leading into Dutch wonderkid Dyro’s rewiring of Morgan Page & Nadia Ali’s ‘Carry Me’ before Sander Van Doorn’s edit of Inpetto’s ‘Shhhh!’ acts as the closing finale piece.

Commenting on the theme behind the album Miss Nine says:

“as a touring DJ I’m constantly inspired by different cultures and events that I encounter and experience whilst on the road. During the past 12 months no occasion has struck my senses more than the wonderful ritual of, Holi. This beautiful religious celebration sees millions of people around the world embrace and united in the joy of spring’s arrival; a partial metaphor for the beauty found by us all on the dancefloor.”

A bastion of house music since 2003, Miss Nine’s profile is immersed in electronic culture being the first female artists to release under Sharam’s Yoshitoshi label, a feat that led Nine to become support DJ for Deep Dish during their reign and where she duly honed her craft in some of the biggest and most respected clubs around the globe. Following this early success Nine also became the youngest DJ to ever play the mainstage at iconic festival Dance Valley, sharing the stage with global heavyweights Tiësto, David Guetta and Avicii. Fast forward to the present day and Miss Nine is a regular feature at prestigious events like Ultra Music Festival playing mainstage this year together with Deadmau5, Kaskade, Hardwell, Porter Robinson and Live stage with Faithless and Snoop Dog, as well as a permanent headliner for venues as far reaching as Privilege, Avalon, Warung, Ministry of Sound and Pacha.

Accompanying the release of this ‘Colours’ ATW edition Miss Nine will be taking the album’s theme on the road evolving the show through a series of colours from April through until October 2013.
