Norin & Rad – Pistol Whip / Zion (Anjunabeats)

Having recently remixed Above & Beyond and Andy Moor’s classic “Air For Life”, US duo Norin & Rad, aka Bruce Karlsson and Nick Sember, continue to cement their position at the forefront of the trance scene with this forward-thinking double a-side EP.

Anyone who has seen Above & Beyond DJ recently will already be familiar with “Pistol Whip”. A futuristic, progressively minded trance track, “Pistol Whip” manages to capture an epic atmosphere and stadium feel without reducing itself to obvious tactics. Instead a typically fresh groove and a unique, musical breakdown combine to dancefloor devastating effect.

Completing an impressively strong release, “Zion” is another groove-heavy modern trancer with a dramatic piano breakdown.
