D.O.D – Hands / Smash Tash

With a DJ style that can only be deemed as inimitable, in-your-face turntable wizardry, D.O.D has managed to secure a wide cross section of fans with his music – which sets about fusing the lines between everything House, Electro and Techno.

But whilst his work ethic is familiar of yesteryears hard craft approach, his technical ability is certainly more forward moving. Positioning his musical style as ‘Jump-Up Big Room House’, he utilises 3-4 CDJ’S, DJM900 an EFX1000/Kaossolaitor, alongside his own personal edits and bootlegs, to great effect – citing the likes of QBert, DJ Yoda and the Scratch Perverts as inspiration for his style of play. This approach to the art of DJing has led him to share the stage with a whopping ensemble of peek time performers in the past 12 months alone; Laidback Luke, Sander Van Doorn, Nicky Romero, Eddie Halliwell, Michael Woods, Tim Mason, Nero, Calvin Harris, Annie Mac, John O’Callahan, Judge Jules, Chase & Status, Pendulum, Example, Riva Starr, Kim Fai, Kissy Sell Out & Doorly to name a few.

D.O.D is of the most talented young DJs and producers we’ve discovered this century. Expect big things – Nick Stevenson, Associate Editor – Mixmag

With his producing career already off to a flying start, D.O.D can already boast a 4 track EP on the UK’s legendary ‘New State Music’ which did the damage worldwide, gaining support from some from one the worlds biggest DJs – Tiesto. One of the tracks from D.O.D’s debut EP also made it onto the ‘Pacha Future Dance’ compilation album. D.O.D also nailed a remix for Dutch electro champion Laidback Luke’s track ‘Turbulence’ which has already hit over 400,000 hits on YouTube. His latest EP release on Australian label ‘Vicious Recordings’ received support from David Guetta, Gareth Emery, Hardwell, Eddie Halliwell to name a few. D.O.D’s remix for Paul Oakenfold’s ‘Perfecto Records’ came out on May 1st already gaining over 6,000 hit on YouTube in its first 3 days of being online.

His new EP on Magik Muzik is a full-on energised smasher that will bring mayhem to dancefloors worldwide.

Over the course of the next few months his schedule is packed with a string of white-hot club dates UK and internationally including Croatia, The Arches in Glasgow, Tomorrowland in Belgium, Tall Trees in Yarm, Judgement Sundays in Ibiza, Ibiza Rocks, Sankeys in Manchester, A North American tour, as well as a full UK festival tour – A sign of a great year ahead for the 24 year old artist!

With enough tricks to keep the eyes as transfixed as the ears, it’s no wonder the world of rave can’t stop their clamour for him. Dance music is at its most potent when all about fresh, hungry and talented youth, and D.O.D represents that lust for measured abandon brilliantly. The dance floor may never be the same again…

One of the best djs I’ve seen all year – Kissy Sell Out, BBC Radio 1
